NHPC, India's largest hydropower generator will raise Rs 2,000 crore in next 5 months. The company will raise money at a rate of 10-15% by issuing bonds and term loans in the domestic market. In the current financial year, the company plans to add 678 MW and the debt raised will be required to fund this project.

However, at present the company is executing 10 projects with a total capacity of 4,502 MW and the projects would be financed through internal resources, subordinate debt and market borrowings.

NHPC is engaged in the planning, development and implementation of an integrated and efficient network of hydroelectric projects in India. It executes all aspects of the development of hydroelectric projects, from concept to commissioning.
