L&T jumps as its arm bags contract in bullet train project

Larsen & Toubro is currently trading at Rs. 1664.80, up by 31.25 points or 1.91% from its previous closing of Rs. 1633.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1653.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1672.00 and Rs. 1640.00 respectively. So far 19976 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2078.20 on 18-Jan-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1324.20 on 05-May-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1738.90 and Rs. 1625.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 234576.64 crore.

The Institutions and Non-Institutions holding in the company stood at 56.14% and 43.86% respectively.

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) construction arm -- L&T construction has been awarded yet another contract in the Bullet Train Project. The Railways Business of L&T Construction has secured a contract from the National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) to construct 116 Route Km of High-Speed Ballastless Trackworks (Package No: T3) for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Project, popularly referred to as the Bullet Train Project.

The scope of the MAHSR T3 Package includes Design, Supply, Construction and Testing & Commissioning track works on a Design-Build lump sum price basis for the double line high speed railway between Vadodara and Sabarmati in Gujarat. Japanese Shinkansen track technology will be adopted in this project. Upon completion, this slab track system will enable trains to travel at speeds of up to 320 KMPH.
