Reliance Retail’s unit Reliance Dairy Foods has entered into distribution of milk in Mumbai and Thane under Dairy Life brand. The company will face tough competition from market leaders such as Amul, Gokul, Mahanand and others.

Reliance had already entered the dairy business with the launch of Dairy Life in Hyderabad and subsequently entered other markets such as NCR and Pune.

Reliance Retail is a subsidiary company of Reliance Industries. Founded in 2006 and based in Mumbai, it is the second largest retailer in India. Its retail outlets offer foods, groceries, apparel and footwear, lifestyle and home improvement products, electronic goods, and farm implements and inputs.
