Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has become the first gas producer to trade domestic gas on the Indian Gas Exchange (IGX), trading unspecified volumes from its eastern offshore KG-DWN-98/2 block. The first online trade was made on May 23, 2022 by ONGC Director (Onshore) & In-charge Marketing Anurag Sharma on India's first automated national level Gas Exchange, IGX.

ONGC is India’s largest government-run corporation and produces about 70% of India’s crude oil and natural gas. The corporation is the biggest public sector commercial organization in India.
