NTPC has reported 61 per cent growth in its coal output at 42.40 lakh metric tonnes in April-June quarter from 26.40 lakh metric tonnes (MT) in the same period a year ago. The three operational coal mines -- Pakri-Barwadih (Jharkhand), Dulanga (Odisha) and Talaipalli (Chhattisgarh) -- have contributed to achieving 42.40 lakh metric tonnes of coal production.

The production of coal during the month of June 2022 almost doubled to 15.55 lakh MT from 7.73 lakh MT in the same month a year ago.

NTPC is the largest power utility company in India and has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
