Tata Power has been bestowed with the CII-ITC Sustainability Award-2012 for its strong commitment to the environment. The company is known to address various aspects of resource conservation, energy efficiency, carbon footprint, renewable power generation, biodiversity and green buildings in its areas of operations.

The awards were announced at a formal presentation ceremony in New Delhi on Jan 14, 2013. The annual CII-ITC Sustainability Awards are conferred on Indian businesses that demonstrate excellent performance in the area of sustainable development.

Tata Power is India's largest integrated private sector power utility with an installed generation capacity of 5297 MW and a presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), transmission, distribution and trading.
