HDFC Bank drops despite reporting in line with estimates Q3 numbers

HDFC Bank is currently trading at Rs 658.25, down by 8.65 points or 1.30% from its previous closing of Rs 666.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 671.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs 674.15 and Rs 655.70 respectively. So far 196359 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 705.00 on 30-Nov-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 470.00 on 20-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 680.00 and Rs 655.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 156055.51 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 22.94% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 42.60% and 17.30% respectively.

HDFC Bank met forecasts with a 30.04% rise in its net profit at Rs 1859.07 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 1429.66 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 21.85% at Rs 10506.51 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 8622.64 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The bank’s gross NPA for the December 31, 2012 quarter of the current fiscal stood at 1.00%, as compared to 1.03% in the same quarter of the previous year. Besides, bank’s Net NPA remained unchanged at 0.20% in the quarter under review.
