-4.55 (-1.08%) Coal India’s (CIL) coal production has increased by 6.3% to 52.9 million tonnes (MT) in October 2022 as against 49.8 MT in October 2021. The company’s production in the April- October 2022 period increased 17.5 per cent to 351.9 MT, compared with 299.6 MT in the year-ago period.
The company's offtake decreased by 4.9% to 53.7 MT in October, 2022, over 56.5 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. However, its offtake in the April- October 2022 period increased by 5.9% to 385.7 MT over 364.4 MT in the year-ago period.
Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
