Larsen & Toubro’s arm L&T Technology Services has inaugurated a Global Engineering Service Centre (GESC) in Chennai. It will offer mechanical and electronics engineering services for Takata technical centers in Japan, US and Germany.

With this initiative, the company aims to enhance the global engineering research and development capabilities for next-generation automobile occupant safety and protection systems. Takata’s main businesses will be in manufacturing and sale of automotive seat belts, airbags, steering wheels, interior trim and fabrics
