Persistent Systems trades in green on entering into a strategic agreement with HP

Persistent Systems is currently trading at Rs. 535.55, up by 0.55 points or 0.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 535.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 536.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 545.00 and Rs. 530.05 respectively. So far 475 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 589.50 on 23-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 301.10 on 03-Mar-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 551.95 and Rs. 519.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2,142 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 38.96% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 33.86% and 27.18% respectively.

Persistent Systems, the global leader in software product and technology services, has entered into a strategic agreement with Hewlett Packard to license one of its software products, which is subject to customary closing conditions.

The company has reported 27.70% rise in its Q3 net profit at Rs 48.04 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 37.62 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income from operation of the company has increased by 26.79% at Rs 255.72 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 201.68 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
