Tata Consultancy Services trades higher on the bourses

Tata Consultancy Services is currently trading at Rs. 1451.00, up by 20.45 points or 1.43% from its previous closing of Rs. 1430.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1425.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1455.00 and Rs. 1425.00 respectively. So far 1,67,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1455.00 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1046.55. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2,83,992.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 73.96% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.41% and 4.63% respectively.

Nielsen Holdings NV has expanded the size of its contract with India's top software services exporter, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), to $2.5 billion from $1 billion. Besides, the contract size, Nielsen has also extended the contract by three years to 2020.

As per the 10-year contract signed in 2007, TCS provided IT and business services to Nielsen. Besides this, the company already has a multi-year outsourcing contract worth $2.5 billion with Citigroup Inc and a $2.2 billion contract with UK-based Friends Life.
