Jaguar Land Rover unveils the luxury sedan- ‘Jaguar XJ Ultimate’

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover, in a move to expand its portfolio and boost it brand appeal in the country, has unveiled Jaguar XJ Ultimate luxury sedan. The XJ Ultimate, imported in India through completely built unit (CBU) route, will be available with Jaguar’s existing 5.0-litre V8 petrol supercharged engine and 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine. While the 5.0 litre V8 option will cost Rs 1.88 crore (ex-Showroom Delhi), the 3.0 litre diesel variant is priced at Rs 1.78 crore.

The company is launching the luxury sedan with an aim to increase sales in India. For 2012, it reported 32% growth in sales at 2,393 cars, compared to 1,813 units in the previous year. The Jaguar product range in India includes the XF, XFR, XKR, XKR-S and XJ. The Land Rover range includes the Freelander 2, Discovery 4, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and a new Range Rover.
