6.20 (1.45%) Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company, in line with its philosophy of superior customer care, has launched a unique programme called, 'wiremen training programme’ for its residential customers in Mumbai. The programme facilitates the training of wiremen (electricians) and provides specialised training on the various aspects that a wireman has to deal with on a day-to-day basis.
The objective of this training programme is to enhance the electrician's competencies in areas such as Knowledge improvement about safety procedures while carrying out electrical jobs. This training programme also improve Knowledge on material used for electrical installations like power cables, earthing system, switches and switch gears like fuses, MCBs, ELCBs, etc.
The programme has been well received by a number of residential complexes and other housing societies. One hundred and twenty wiremen have been trained so far. Many beneficiaries have complimented Tata Power for initiating this programme and have urged the company to continue conducting more such initiatives in the future.Tata Power is India's largest integrated private sector power utility with an installed generation capacity of 5297 MW and a presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), transmission, distribution and trading.
