0.95 (0.28%) Tata Motors, country's largest automobile maker, is reportedly working on a new entry level compact small car - Tata Dolphin, which will be pitched between its Nano and Indica models in its Indian product portfolio. With this new vehicle, the company wants to fill the gap between its Nano and Indica compact hatchbacks, in terms of pricing.
At present, automaker is offering Tata Nano with a starting price around Rs 1.5 lakh, whereas the Tata Indica hatchback comes with a base price tag close to Rs 3.3 lakh in the domestic passenger car market. So, the company will be launching the new Tata Dolphin entry level hatch with the price tags close to Rs 2 to 3 lakh.
