Date: 01-03-2013National Thermal Power Corporation’s (NTPC) Unit I of 500 MW of Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station, Stage-IV is declared for commercial operation with effect from March 01, 2013.
With this, the total commercial capacity of Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station has become 3,760 MW and the total commercial capacity of NTPC has become 34,310 MW.
NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
