-7.95 (-1.85%) Coal India’s (CIL) coal production has increased by 4% to 83.5 million tonnes (MT) in March 2023 as against 80.3 MT in March 2022. The company’s production in the April- March 2023 period increased 12.9 per cent to 703.2 MT, compared with 622.6 MT in the year-ago period.
The company's offtake increased by 3.4% to 64.2 MT in March, 2023, over 62.0 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. Its offtake in the April- March 2023 period increased by 5.0% to 694.7 MT over 661.9 MT in the year-ago period.
Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
