Tata Power scouts for fuel cell technology partners

Tata Power, as part of efforts to strengthen its presence in clean energy space, is looking for partners for exploring opportunities in the area of fuel cell technologies in domestic market. Fuel cells, which run on variety of fuels such as hydrogen, methanol and ethanol, are seen as a replacement for diesel generator sets. These cells are considered as highly efficient and a good source of clean energy.

Further, the company, presently, has installed generation capacity of about 8,500 MW, including 852 MW from renewable energy sources.

Tata Power is India's largest integrated private sector power utility with an installed generation capacity of 5297 MW and a presence in all the segments of the power sector viz. generation (thermal, hydro, solar and wind), transmission, distribution and trading.
