-1.20 (-0.28%) Coal India’s (CIL) coal production has increased by 9.5% to 59.9 million tonnes (MT) in May 2023 as against 54.7 MT in May 2022. The company’s production in the April- May 2023 period increased 8.6 per cent to 117.5 MT, compared with 108.2 MT in the year-ago period.
The company's offtake increased by 4.2% to 63.7 MT in May, 2023, over 61.2 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. Its offtake in the April- March 2023 period increased by 6.3% to 126.0 MT over 118.6 MT in the year-ago period.
Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
