ITC is currently trading at Rs. 305.55, up by 1.45 points or 0.48% from its previous closing of Rs. 304.10 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 306.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 306.90 and Rs. 303.50 respectively. So far 207140 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 310.75 on 04-Feb-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 215.40 on 19-Mar-2012.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 306.90 and Rs. 295.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 242131.14 crore.
The Institutions and Non-Institutions held 52.48% and 47.22% stake in the company, respectively.
ITC has hiked prices of 74 mm size cigarettes by Rs 10 per pack. The prices have been hiked mainly to offset the effect of higher VAT and excise duty on cigarettes. After the Union Budget, the VAT on an average has gone up by 1.5 per cent while excise duty has been hiked by 18 per cent. ITC might announce a price hike across the board sometime during the last week of March post Tamil Nadu Budget. States of West Bengal and Assam have hiked tobacco taxes to 25 per cent from 20 per cent earlier in the Budget. Assam and Bengal account for 3 per cent and 7 per cent of ITC's volume.
