14.40 (0.45%) Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions organization is reportedly close to bagging a Rs 1,100-crore systems integration contract from India Post as part of the latter’s drive to modernize its technology infrastructure.
The contract will be a five-year deal and TCS will be accountable for overall implementation of India Post 2012, a multi-faceted IT automation programme announced by the Department of Posts (DoP) three years ago.
Further, the company is likely to sign a contract with DoP in the next two weeks. Along with TCS other nine IT vendors including IT majors HP, TCS and Tech Mahindra-Mahindra Satyam, were trying for the contract. India Post 2012 will include eight contracts in the fields of hardware, software and systems integration.
