National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), the country’s largest power utility has been awarded as the most efficient Maharatna in manufacturing for the year 2012 by a leading Stock Magazine at the 4th DSIJ Award held in New Delhi. The company received the award from Union Minister of Civil Aviation.

NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
