L&T secures Rs 3700 crore worth orders across various business segments

Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has secured new orders worth of Rs 3,700 crore across various business segments in March 2013. The company’s building and factories business has bagged orders worth of Rs 1,986 crore for the construction of residential towers and commercial development across India.

Company’s power transmission and distribution business too received new orders worth of Rs 1,097 crore. A major order secured by this division was from Punjab State power Corporation for execution of R-APDRP (Part B) project on turnkey basis at Amritsar, Jalandar and ludhiana city. The scope of this project includes construction of 66/11kV and 33/11kV grid substations, 11kV distribution lines, distribution transformers centers, underground cabling, package substations, installation of ring main units and static energy meters.

Its solar business unit has won new EPC orders worth of Rs 373 crore for the construction of solar PV plants in Rajasthan and Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, while additional orders worth of Rs 244 crore have been bagged from various ongoing jobs in the infrastructure and metallurgical and material handling business.
