Idea Cellular trades higher on the BSE

Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs 104.65, up by 1.40 points or 1.36% from its previous closing of Rs 103.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 101.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs 105.05 and Rs 101.10 respectively. So far 230218 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 124.00 on 16-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs 71.20 on 24-Apr-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs.115.00 and Rs 102.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 34783.81 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 45.88% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.06% and 32.06% respectively.

In a major blow to Idea Cellular, DoT has directed operator to immediately stop offering 3G services outside their licensed zones and has slapped a fine of Rs 300 crore. Besides, the telecom department has also slapped a fine of Rs 550 crore on Vodafone for similar issue.

Meanwhile, Supreme Court on Friday rejected a plea by Bharti Airtel to immediately hear its appeal against the Delhi High Court order on Thursday which virtually prevents the company from providing 3G services in seven circles, where it does not have a licence.

Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea won 3G airwaves in 13, nine and 11 circles, respectively, in the 2010 auctions.
