NHPC has inked Memorandum of Agreements (MoA) with Government of Arunachal Pradesh on August 12, 2023 for development of two hydroelectric projects in the State of Arunachal Pradesh with aggregate capacity of 3800 MW. The Memorandum of Agreements envisaged the development of two hydroelectric Projects namely Subansiri Upper Hydroelectric Project (2000 MW) and Kamala Hydroelectric Project (1800 MW). Subansiri Upper Hydroelectric Project is located in Upper Subansiri district and Kamala Hydroelectric Project is to be constructed in Kamale district.

NHPC is engaged in electric power generation by hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy works.
