Mahindra & Mahindra’s Electric Vehicles Manufacturing arm enters into strategic partnership with VBS

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) - subsidiary - Mahindra Reva India’s electric vehicle pioneer and Vodafone Business Services (VBS), the enterprise arm of Vodafone India have entered into strategic technology partnership. This partnership will enable Vodafone to provide Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication services to power the recently launched electric vehicle Mahindra e2o. The e2o which has just been launched in India is a truly ‘connected car’ and is among a select few in the world to support telematics.

Using their smart phones or any internet connected computer through Vodafone's network 'e2o' owners can know how much battery is left, schedule pre-heating or pre-cooling, lock/unlock car door, find the nearest charging station as well as get an emergency boost charge to go an extra 8-10 kms. Vodafone’s machine-to-machine communication technologies enable secure connectivity between the vehicle and central application powered by a best in class machine to machine service platform.
