Power Grid Corporation of India, pursuant to its selection as the successful bidder under Tariff based competitive bidding, has acquired ‘Ananthpuram Kurnool Transmission’ (the Project SPV) on September 27, 2023 to establish ‘Transmission Scheme for Solar Energy Zone in Ananthpuram (Ananthapur) (2500 MW) and Kurnool (1000 MW), Andhra Pradesh’, on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis from the Bid Process Coordinator i.e. PFC Consulting.

The project comprises of establishment of a new 400/220 kV Pooling Station at a suitable border location between Ananthpuram & Kurnool (in Andhra Pradesh) and 02 nos. of 400 kV D/C Transmission Lines traversing in the state of Andhra Pradesh and associated bay extension works. The transmission system is an Inter State Transmission System Project and is to be constructed within 24 months from the effective date of Contract.
