Eicher Motors jumps as its arm Royal Enfield rolls out first vehicle from Chennai plant

Eicher Motors is currently trading at Rs. 2961.00, up by 36.55 points or 1.25% from its previous closing of Rs. 2924.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2948.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2975.00 and Rs. 2905.10 respectively. So far 1080 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3240.00 on 03-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1620.00 on 21-Jun-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2950.00 and Rs. 2811.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 8,412 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 55.19% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 24.71% and 20.10% respectively.

Eicher Motors’ two-wheeler arm Royal Enfield has rolled out its first vehicle from the new green-field facility at Oragadam, near Chennai. This will be its first new facility in 60 years. The company aims to manufacture 1.75 lakh units in a year against earlier plan of producing 1.50 lakh units a year. The new plant at Oragadam, near Chennai was built in a record time of 11 months. Oragadam plant is spread over 50 acres and was made with an initial investment of Rs 150 crore.
