Maruti Suzuki’s April 2013 production declines by 8%

Maruti Suzuki’s total production for the month of April 2013 has declined by 7.58% to 105,416 units from 114,065 units in same month last year. The production of Mini cars like Alto, A-Star and Wagon-R has decreased by 14.13% to 43,146 units from 50,246 in April 2012.

The compact cars like Ritz, Swift, and Estilo production slipped by 8.58% to 25,793 units however, the production of Super Compact, Midsize and Executive class cars rose by 17.64% to 21,604 units. Further, the production of Utility vehicle rose by 14.30% from 5,089 units to 5,817 units. The utility vehicles include Gypsy, Ertiga, Grand and Vitara while, the production of vans like Eco and Omni dropped by 25.47% to 9056 units from 12151 units. 

The company’s domestic sales for the month of April 2013 have increased by 0.30% to 90,523 units from 90,255 units in same month last year. The domestic sales of Mini cars like Alto, A-Star and Wagon-R has increased by 13.69% to 34,927 units from 30,720 in April 2012.

The domestic sales of compact cars like Ritz, Swift and Estilo slipped by 17.40% to 21,535 units however, the sales of Super Compact, Midsize and Executive class cars rose by 24.15% to 20,047 units. Further, the sales of Utility vehicles decline by 4.92% from 5,593 units to 5,318 units. The utility vehicles include Gypsy, Ertiga, Grand and Vitara while, the sales of vans like Eco and Omni dropped by 25.82% to 90,523 units from 90,255 units.

 The company’s exports sales for the month of April 2013 has declined by 33.28% to 6,779 units from 10,160 units in same month last year. The exports sales of Mini cars like Alto, A-Star and Wagon-R has decreased by 31.34% to 5,616 units from 8,180 in April 2012.

The exports sales compact cars like Ritz, Swift and Estilo slipped by 54.51% to 676 units however, the sales of Super Compact, Midsize and Executive class cars rose by 23.27% to 445 units. Further, the exports sales of Utility vehicles decline by 63.64% from 11 units to 4 units. The utility vehicles include Gypsy, Ertiga, Grand and Vitara while, the sales of vans like Eco and Omni dropped by 68.85% to 38 units from 122 units.
