Asian Paints surges on the buzz of hiking product prices across all categories

Asian Paints is currently trading at Rs. 4818.10, up by 75.65 points or 1.60% from its previous closing of Rs. 4742.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 4740.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 4845.00 and Rs. 4740.00 respectively. So far 7849 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 5047.00 on 21-Mar-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 3447.90 on 26-Jul-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 4927.10 and Rs. 4590.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 46455.87 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.79% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.30% and 19.91% respectively.

Asian Paints has reportedly increased its product prices across all categories by 1-2 per cent.

The company is India’s largest paint company and Asia’s third largest paint company with an annual turnover of Rs 5,463 crore. The company has reported a fall of 2.06% in its net profit at Rs 239.56 crore in Q4FY13 as compared to net profit of Rs 244.59 crore in the same quarter previous year.
