NTPC has planned to issue unsecured non-convertible debentures (NCDs) of Rs 1,500 crore on March 21, 2024, through private placement at a coupon of 7.48% p.a. for a tenor of 2 years, maturing on March 21, 2026. The proceeds will be utilized for, inter alia, funding of capital expenditure, refinancing of existing loans and other general corporate purposes.

The debentures are proposed to be listed on BSE. Debenture Trust Deed will be duly executed as per the requirements of and within the period of time prescribed under the Companies Act and rules specified therein. 

NTPC is the largest power utility company in India and has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
