NHPC’s Unit 1 of Teesta Low Dam -III HE Project has been declared under commercial operation from May 19, 2013. This is pursuant to successful trial run and demonstration of peaking capability corresponding to installed capacity of 33 MW each. Further the company has also stated commercial operation of the generating station of installed capacity of 4x33MW (132MW) from the same day.

NHPC is engaged in the planning, development and implementation of an integrated and efficient network of hydroelectric projects in India. It executes all aspects of the development of hydroelectric projects, from concept to commissioning.
