-294.40 (-1.87%) India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India has registered a fall of 14.4% in its total car sales (Domestic + Export) for the month of May at 84,677 units as against 98,884 units in May 2012. The company’s domestic sales also declined 13% in May 2013 at 77,821 units as against 89,478 units in corresponding month last year.
Of the total, the company has sold 66,342 units of its passenger cars during last month, down by 8.30% as against 72,309 units in May 2012. The sales of its utility vehicles crumbled 44.30% to 4,307 units from 7,734 units while the company’s sales of vans declined 24% to 7,172 units as against 9,435 units in May 2012.
The company’s sales from export tumbled 27.10% to 6,856 units as against 9,406 units in May 2012.
