BPCL swings to loss in Q2

Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) has reported results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2011.

The company has reported a net loss of Rs 3229.27 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal as compared to a net profit of Rs 2142.22 crore for the corresponding quarter of the last year. However, the company’s total income has increased by 18.66% at Rs 42680.59 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 35968.36 crore for the second quarter of the previous year.

BPCL is into exploration, production and retailing of petroleum and petrol related products. The retail business unit of BPCL is into marketing of petrol, diesel and kerosene.
