-1.30 (-0.24%) JSW Energy has begun construction of a 1 gigawatt hour (GWh) battery energy storage system project in Fatehgarh, Rajasthan. The project, secured from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), features two installations of 500 MWh each, aimed at enhancing grid stability and renewable energy integration.
Designed under a Build Own Operate and Transfer (BOOT) mechanism, it will be transferred to the offtaker after 12 years. The project is expected to be commissioned by June 2025. In addition, JSW Energy has signed an MoU with JSW Steel to supply green hydrogen and oxygen by 2030.
