6.55 (0.33%) Bharti Airtel is reportedly planning to hive off its data centres into a standalone business. The company is also planning to induct a partner into the freshly carved out unit. The company’s data centres provided captive services to its in-house telecom play but will now focus on getting other businesses on board.
In this regard, the company’s board has approved the process of making data centres, currently a part of its enterprise services, an independent 100% subsidiary. India’s largest telecom company by subscriber base and revenue share will also appoint a new CEO to scale up its data centre operations, currently present in 7-8 cities.
Bharti Airtel is a leading integrated telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa. The company ranks amongst the top 5 mobile service providers globally in terms of subscribers.
