Tata Motors unveils improved versions of eight vehicles across 5 key brands

Tata Motors, as a precursor to future launches, has unveiled eight improved and enhanced vehicles, across 5 of its key brands. These refresher models (improved and enhanced versions of existing models) include Indigo eCS, Sumo Gold, Nano, Indica and Explorer edition of Safari Storme. It also includes CNG variants of Indica, Indigo and the world’s cheapest car, Nano. However, the company has not announced the prices of the new vehicles yet. Further, the company will utilize the capacity at Sanand, the plant where its manufactures Nano, to make small cars which are part of a product portfolio planned for roll-out by 2020.

Tata Motors’ total sales including exports of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in May 2013 were 49,304 vehicles. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for May 2013 were 45,430 units. The cumulative sales including exports for the company for the fiscal were 1,00,464 units. The company’s sales from exports are 3,874 vehicles in May 2013. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal were 7,439 units.
