-96.30 (-1.01%) Bajaj Auto, the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer has registered a 14% fall in total sales including exports to 295,749 units in June 2013 against 345,162 units in June 12. Company’s total exports stood at 120,399 units, an increase of 4% as compared to 116,062 units sold in the corresponding month last year. The two wheeler maker’s sales were affected by the illegal strike at Chakan plant, which caused a loss of 20,000 units.
Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
