Bajaj Auto declines on reporting 14% fall in June 2013 sales

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs. 1918.00, down by 5.10 points or 0.27% from its previous closing of Rs. 1923.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1920.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1968.55 and Rs. 1904.70 respectively. So far 18859 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2228.95 on 03-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1423.10 on 18-Jul-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1934.00 and Rs. 1759.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 55471.66 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.02%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.46% and 24.50% respectively.

Bajaj Auto, the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer has registered a 14% fall in total sales including exports to 295,749 units in June 2013 against 345,162 units in June 12. Company’s total exports stood at 120,399 units, an increase of 4% as compared to 116,062 units sold in the corresponding month last year. The two wheeler maker’s sales were affected by the illegal strike at Chakan plant, which caused a loss of 20,000 units.

Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
