Bajaj Auto plans to launch RE60 by FY14 end

Bajaj Auto, India’s second largest motorcycle manufacturer which makes Pulsar and Discover range of motorcycles is planning to launch its four- wheeled passenger carrier -- RE60 -- by end of the this fiscal. The company is planning to launch RE60 in second half of FY14. The company first unveiled the prototype of RE60 at the Auto Expo in New Delhi in January 2012. The quadricycle is low-speed, lightweight four-wheeler, meant for intra-city commutes.

Recently in June, the company had launched -- KTM Duke 390 -- for Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This is the second offering of the company from the KTM stable.

Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
