ITC surges on increasing prices of Gold Flake brand

ITC is currently trading at Rs. 342.75, up by 4.25 points or 1.26% from its previous closing of Rs. 338.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 340.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 345.00 and Rs. 340.50 respectively. So far 135085 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 355.75 on 30-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 246.40 on 05-Jul-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 345.00 and Rs. 320.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 271032.88 crore.

The Institutions and Non-Institutions held 53.13% and 46.58% stake in the company, respectively.

ITC has hiked prices of its Gold Flake cigarette brand by over 7%. After this revision the price of Gold Flake Filter pack consisting of 10 cigarettes will be Rs 59 against Rs 55 earlier. Likewise, Gold Flake Premium Filter cigarette will cost Rs 58, up from Rs 55 earlier.

Diversified group’s cigarettes business grew by 11.48% to Rs 3,623.23 crore during the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2013, compared to Rs 3,249.88 crore in the same period of previous fiscal. It manufactures cigarettes at manufacturing plants located in Bengaluru, Munger, Saharanpur, Kolkata and Pune.
