NTPC, country’s power producing major is likely to set up a technology institute in Madhya Pradesh as part of plan to contribute to the community development of the state. With this initiative, it aims to enhance the accessibility of local people to technical degree courses which will be of help to the people of the State besides contributing in overall development of the district.

The company has made significant investments in Madhya Pradesh. In addition to the existing power station- 3760 MW Vindhyachal Super Thermal Power Station, the largest power station in the country, the other upcoming NTPC power projects planned in the state are 1600 MW Gadarwara , 2640 MW Barethi,1320 MW Khargone and 50 MW solar project at Rajgarh near Bhopal.
