REC has reported 17.98% rise in loan disbursement to Rs 54,692 crore in Q3FY25 as compared to Rs 46,358 crore in Q3FY24. Its renewable energy loan disbursement stood at Rs 6,314 crore in December quarter of FY25 as against Rs 3,994 crore in Q3FY24, i.e. up by 58.09%. 

REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric cooperatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
