State-run power generation utility, NTPC has received an investment approval for Feroze Gandhi Unchahar Thermal Power Project (1x500 MW) to be implemented in the state of Uttar Pradesh at an appraised current estimated cost of Rs 3,363.12 crore. The board of director at its meeting held on July 30, 2013 has approved for the same.

NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
