Coal India reports marginal fall in coal production during January

Coal India has reported fall of 0.8% in coal production to 77.80 million tonnes (MT) (Provisional) during January 2025 as compared to 78.4 MT (Provisional) in January 2024. However, it produced 621.1 MT (Provisional) of coal during April- January period, up 1.8% from 610.3 MT (Provisional) during the same period previous year.  

In January 2025, coal offtake increased by 2.2% to 68.6 MT (Provisional) from 67.1 MT (Provisional) in January 2024. The total offtake of coal during the April- January period increased to 630.2 MT (Provisional), up 1.8% from 619.4 MT (Provisional) in the corresponding period last fiscal.
