NTPC has planned to issue unsecured non-convertible debentures (NCDs) of Rs 4,000 crore on March 20, 2025, through private placement at a coupon of 7.26% p.a. for a tenor of 15 years, maturing on March 20, 2040, under the board resolution dated June 29, 2024 and subsequent approval obtained through shareholders’ resolution dated August 29, 2024. 

This is the first issue of debentures under the above mentioned approval. Proceeds will be utilized for, inter alia, funding of capital expenditure, refinancing of existing loans and other general corporate purposes. The debentures are proposed to be listed on NSE. 

NTPC is the largest power utility company in India and has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
