NTPC’s stepdown subsidiary -- NTPC Green Energy has secured approval from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation to start commercial operations at the third and last part capacity of 100 MW out of 320 MW Bhainsara Solar PV Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan of NTPC Renewable Energy. NTPC Green Energy has started commercial operation with effect from March 20, 2025.

The first part capacity of 160 MW and second part capacity of 60 MW has already been declared on commercial operation with effect from August 28, 2024 and January 07, 2025 respectively. With this, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC group has now become 77,561.50 MW.

NTPC is the largest power utility company in India and has presence in Coal, Gas, Solar PV, Hydro and Wind Power Generation and Coal Mining.
