Samvardhana Motherson International has acquired Baldi Industria E Comercio (Baldi) on May 2, 2025 upon receipt of necessary approval(s) and satisfaction of all conditions precedent to closing. The company has acquired Baldi via SMP Automotive Produtos Automotivos Do Brasil (SMP Brasil), a 100% subsidiary of Samvardhana Motherson Automotive Systems Group B.V. (SMRP B.V.). SMRP B.V. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

Samvardhana Motherson International is one of the world’s leading specialized automotive component manufacturing companies for OEMs. The company, formerly known as Motherson Sumi Systems was established in 1986 as a joint venture with Sumitomo Wiring Systems.
