-9.60 (-0.25%) L&T's Metallurgical and Material handling division has secured orders worth Rs 1,610 crore in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal of which a major part is from Tata Steel. Tata Steel is setting up four new coke oven batteries, each of 0.75 million tonne a year (mtpa) capacity with a by-product plant of 1.8 lakh Nm3/hr (normal cubic metre/ hour) of gas processing capacity. L&T is already constructing a coke oven complex for Tata Steel's Jamshedpur works and one for Bhushan Steel's Meramandali (Orissa) works. It is constructing a blast furnace, sinter plant, steel melting shop and other units of Tata Steel's six-mtpa Kalinga Nagar project. L&T has got Rs 240-crore order from Indiabulls Power Ltd for civil and structural works for coal handling plants and an ash handling unit for Amravati and Nashik Thermal Power Projects (Phase-II) in Maharashtra. L&T is executing the supply and erection of coal handling plant for Phase-I and II of the project.
