Kotak Mahindra Bank spurts on BSE

Kotak Mahindra Bank is currently trading at Rs 664.70, up by 56.05 points or 9.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 608.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 623.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 674.00 and Rs. 623.10 respectively. So far 58107 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 804.00 on 30-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 561.20 on 05-Sep-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 671.00 and Rs. 591.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 51325.90 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 43.75 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 33.40 % and 22.61 % respectively.

Private sector lender, Kotak Mahindra Bank has unveiled its ‘Kotak Junior’ saving accounts programme in Saurashtra region on September 04, 2013. This will encourage children to save from early age and provide them a platform to channelize their habit of saving money. The bank has opened nearly 10,000 accounts in different branches of the country since the ‘Kotak Junior’ was launched.

Kotak Mahindra Bank has 68 branches in Gujarat including 11 in Saurashtra region. The bank has opened three more branches in Saurashtra region-- at Gondal, Dhoraji and Rajkot city in less than a year.

The bank has reported 42.61% rise in its net profit at Rs 402.82 crore for first quarter ended June 30, 2013 as compared to Rs 282.45 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 28.95% at Rs 2652.40 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2056.98 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.
