Tata Motors trades jubilantly as its global arm JLR registers 28% increase in August sales

Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs. 345.65, up by 27.85 points or 8.76% from its previous closing of Rs. 317.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 320.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 346.00 and Rs. 320.10 respectively. So far 1044372 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 346.00 on 10-Sept-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 239.00 on 07-Sep-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 346.00 and Rs. 292.15 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 93554.28 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.35% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 37.98% and 8.43% respectively.

Tata Motors’ subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover has registered 28% jump in its global sales in August this year at 27,852 units. Of the total Jaguar sold 5,405 units, up 92% reflecting strong demand for all XF derivatives, while Land Rover sold 22,447 units, up 18%.

Geographically, the company’s sales in the China Region rose 43%, North America up 40%, UK up 36%, Asia Pacific up 35% and other overseas markets higher 18%. However, sales in Europe were down by 1% due in large part to the run out of Range Rover Sport.
